Can HT-18 detect electrical power lines or hot water pipe behind the walls? That's really depends on the scenario. Generally, you can't detect the object behind a barrel such as a wall that does not allow infrared rays going through. But in most of scenario we can indirectly ‘see’ the hot water pipe behind a wall as it heats up the wall and generate typical thermal distribution on the surface of a wall.
